Today, the endSARS protest got into its third day, with thousands of Nigerians from different parts of the country trooping on to the streets to demand the proscription of SARS. Yesterday there were tales of bloodshed and threat to life in some parts of the country. In Owerri, a certain police officer pulled out a gun at the protesters, but the protesters were not deterred by the threats, as they screamed at him, "Shoot! You want to shoot us? Shoot!"In Ughelli, a boy was shot in the leg, and the mob chased the policeman that opened fire on the boy and lynched him to death. In Ughelli, the protest has degenerated into a mini war, with the cyberspace inundated with videos of shooting and bloodshed. In Lagos, a young lady was shot in the mouth yesterday. The protesters also spent the night outside the Lagos State House of Assembly, and vowed not to back out until SARS is ended.
